Many of Georgia’s wineries are having special events to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Yonah Mountain Vineyards Tasting Room in picturesque Sautee-Nacoochee will host Prelude to Valentine’s Day on Saturday, February 13. There will be hors d’oeuvres, entertainment and, of course, wine to romance your valentine.

Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14, Tiger Mountain Vineyards will present their annual Chocolate and Wine Weekend.  You’ll enjoy homemade chocolate truffles, chocolate fondue, wine and live classical guitar music.

Dahlonega’s Three Sisters Vineyards will also present their annual Wine and Chocolate Lovers Celebration on February 13 and 14.  The winery will combine chocolate and wines in a special tasting line-up, and you can have your own private tasting for an extra fee.

Or, Tie-the-Knot on Tybee.  This is a unique and romantic event open to the public that will be a group wedding ceremony and vow renewal celebration. There will be food, drinks, music, photographers and (of course) cake!

If you’re already married, let your spouse know you’d do it all over again at Savannah’s Annual Marriage Vow Renewal Ceremony. Join the romantic, moving ceremony outside in the courtyard of City Market.  Prizes from City Market shops will be awarded in various categories, such as couple married the longest and couple with the most children.

In Columbus on Sunday, February 7 you can enjoy Best of Broadway! Pops Concert and Luncheon. You’ll hear broadway favorites from Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, Sound of Music, Les Miserables, West Side Story and more while enjoying an elegant buffet lunch.

Congratulations to the Georgia’s own Zac Brown Band who just won the 2010 Grammy for Best New Artist!

Plan a trip to visit the places, sites and sounds that have influenced the group. The lead singer Zac Brown was raised in Dahlonega then attended the University of West Georgia in Carrollton.  Plus, Zac and his father owned a restaurant in the Lake Oconee area called “Zac’s Place,” and the band has filmed three of their four videos in Georgia.

As for live performances this weekend, we’ve got those, too.  The Elbert Theatre in Elberton will be hosting Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike for a bluegrass concert on Friday, February 5.  This is a one night only performance and will feature fiddler and song writer Becky Buller.

On Sunday, February 7 in Clarkesville, hear beautiful harmony in cowboy songs at the farewell concert of Cowboy Envy.  This is the final concert of their retirement tour and will include a little something extra - an accordion player.

The International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Quarterfinals will be at the Morton Theatre in Athens on Saturday, February 6.  The Varsity Vocals with the UGA Accidentals and Noteworthy will present this night of a cappella competition with groups from all over the south.

From January 28 - February 6, you can see Don’t Dress for Dinner in Valdosta.  This rapid-fire comedy is a classic farce full of mistaken identities, quick changes and midnight secrets. Hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard tries to spend the weekend with his chic Parisian mistress in a French farmhouse.

Columbus’s Springer Opera House presents the play Inherit the Wind from January 28 - February 6.  Based on the famed Scopes Monkey Trial, this play peers deep into the heart and soul of America and finds profound truths and enduring hopes.

Now through January 31, Atlanta’s Fox Theatre presents
The New Mel Brooks Musical: Young Frankenstein.  From the creators of The Producers comes this monster new musical comedy that’s based on Mel Brooks’ classic film.  The story follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life.

Now in its 73rd year, The Chuck Wagon Gang continues to strum and sing its way into the history books by being the oldest mixed quartet that has continuously recorded what has come to be known as ‘grass roots’ gospel music.  Over the years, the group has managed to record well over 750 songs and sell nearly 40 million records worldwide. Hear them for yourself Sunday, January 31 in Cumming.

On Sunday, January 31 in Columbus, there will be a Faculty Recital featuring Matthew McCabe, Visiting Assistant Professor of Audio Technology at Columbus State University, and Russell Brown, Professor of Woodwind Studies at Albany State University.  This concert of cutting-edge electro-acoustic music will consist of pieces by both artists and incorporates live instruments, interactive computer performances and 3-D sound diffusion.

If country music is more your style, Jamey Johnson will be performing in Columbus on Friday, January 29.  This award-winning country music singer-songwriter’s album “That Lonesome Song” was certified gold and produced the top 10 hit “In Color.“  Johnson has also co-written singles for many of country music’s most talented artists, such as Trace Adkins, George Strait and Joe Nichols.
